Does anyone know who the artist was? Arthur Copping the editor
doesn't (Jul 2012).
Update - Feb 2016, it has been suggested by
Christine Cooper that it was James
(Jim) Govier because of the resemblance of the stylised
figures to some of his other art.
Update - Mar 2016, it was James Govier.

How
Do We Do That ?
To
create "The
Dyssean and The Old Dyssean" online
version the PDF* file
that
the
printer (the person) uses is displayed on screen then
each page is saved
as a JPGtm ** file.
All the JPGs are
then inserted into a Libre
Officetm text file in the
correct order
for reading i.e. pages 1, 2, 3 etc. The printer's
PDF is arranged
to print the book,
so you see Front Cover - Back Cover, Pg 1 - Pg 16
etc. That's why
we don't use that.
This is then saved
and exported as a new PDF file.
This PDF is uploaded
via FTP*** to
a hosting web site and you get it from there by clicking
on the link.
Update, July 2012
- That's how we used to do it, we now use ACDSee to
edit the images and produce the PDF files, much easier
and quicker.
* PDF Portable
Document Format - invented by 'Adobe' to ensure that
what you see on the paper is EXACTLY what you see on
screen.
** JPG
or JPEG - Joint Photographic Experts Group - (lossy
compressed 24 bit color image storage format) a file
that is an image/picture.
*** FTP File
Transfer Protocol - a means of putting information
onto web sites.
